The scheme
We through our contractor operate a chargeable scheme for households.
Customers can choose to subscribe to this optional scheme.
The scheme provides for garden waste to be collected weekly.
A scheme subscription will run for 52 weeks. It will start from:
- the date of the initial payment for sacks, and
- the date of delivery for bins
Part-year subscriptions are not available. No refunds will be made for cancellations part-way through the subscription except under certain circumstances.
Collections will be suspended for 3 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. Exact dates will be confirmed by the start of December each year. This information can be found on our Revised collection days page.
The scheme is available for use by domestic households only. The scheme is not available for all households eligible for a kerbside household collection. We may exclude flats or locations where access is difficult. Concerns or queries should be raised with the us before you place your order.
Neighbours may choose to share one bin or sack and one subscription. If this is the case, the registered address used when signing up to the scheme will be the only collection point used.
If upon delivery of a bin or sacks it is considered that your property is unsuitable for a collection:
- you will be contacted, and
- receive a refund
A range of materials can be placed in your bin or sack for collection. 'Garden waste' shall be interpreted accordingly within these terms and conditions:
- grass cuttings
- leaves
- tree, shrub and rose pruning's
- branches (up to 12 inches long and 1 inch diameter for example broom handle width)
- cut flowers
- plants and weeds
- windfalls (for example fruit)

Any garden waste bins or sacks found to contain materials other than those outlined will not be emptied. Contamination must then be removed before the next collection.
