Planning Obligations a guide to S106 and Developer Contributions (SPD2) – Adopted 2010
Planning obligations are private agreements negotiated, usually in the context of planning applications, between local planning authorities and developers to mitigate the impacts of a new development on the surrounding community. They can include, for example, a commitment to providing affordable housing, transport infrastructure improvements and public realm works. The Planning Obligations SPD sets out how the Council will go about achieving this. The document forms part of the Local Development Framework which includes all the planning policy and guidance documents for the city.
