Need support to use the service?
We aim to explain the Choice Based Lettings process and how to place bids, providing support if you need help to do this.
Each week, available properties will be advertised at www.southend-on-the-move.org.uk.
If you qualify for inclusion on our register, you can place bids on available properties between 00.01AM on a Wednesday and 11.59PM on a Sunday. You can enter up to 3 bids each week if there are properties available.
You will need your Application Number and PIN to enter a bid, which we will provide to you, if you qualify for inclusion on the register.
You can bid in the following ways:
- on the website, by logging in at www.southend-on-the-move.org.uk
- by telephone, on 0845 230 3405 and following the instructions
If you need any help with bidding or would like someone else to bid on your behalf, you should let us know when you first apply, tell your support or social worker (if you have one) and they may be able to do this for you or, contact the Housing Team.
You can tell us that you need additional support on your housing register application form, or by:

If you qualify for inclusion on the Home-seekers' Register and it is identified that you need support to search for suitable properties, this will be given. This could involve an occupational therapy referral to make sure that you are being supported to be as independent as possible.
In exceptional circumstances we can make direct allocations.
