How does the Southend Pass work?

Once you have purchased the Southend Pass via the Southend Parking app, you can park for up to 3 hours at a time in car parks and on-street parking bays across the city (from Leigh-on-Sea to Shoeburyness). There is also the additional benefit of an extra 3-hour allowance when parking in the central seafront area (zone 1a) between 6 and 9 pm, so you do not have to pay extra during these hours.

You must activate the Southend Pass when you arrive at a car park or pay-by-phone/pay and display on-street parking bay. To avoid being issued with a penalty charge notice, please ensure you receive a booking confirmation before leaving your vehicle.

Southend Pass customers who need to park in the central seafront area (zone 1a) after 6pm must book a new session on the app. This means two separate sessions can be booked daily for the central seafront area in zone 1a (i.e. one before 6pm and another after 6pm).

Where can I use a Southend Pass?

You can use it in any council-operated car parks, or on pay-by-phone/pay and display on-street parking bays across the city.
