Visit Google Play for the Android version
If you already have the Mobon app, we recommend uninstalling and deleting it once you have downloaded the Southend Parking app.
How does the Southend Pass work?
Once you have purchased the Southend Pass via the Southend Parking app, you can park for up to 3 hours at a time in car parks and on-street parking bays across the city (from Leigh-on-Sea to Shoeburyness).
Customers receive an additional 3-hour allowance when parked in the central seafront area (in Zone 1) or at University Square Car Park after 6pm. To take advantage of this extra time, you must book a new session on the app; this means booking two separate sessions each day as required - one before 6pm and one after 6pm.
You must activate your Southend Pass when you arrive at a car park or pay-by-phone/pay-and-display bay. Always ensure you receive a booking confirmation before leaving your vehicle to avoid a Penalty Charge Notice.
From April 2025, an additional option for commuters has been introduced, allowing Southend Pass customers to park all day at Belton Way West or Belton Way East parking bays at a reduced cost of £6.00.
Where can I use a Southend Pass?
Southend Pass can be used in any of our council-operated car parks and in locations with pay-by-phone/pay-and-display on-street parking bays across the city, which is divided into Zones 1, 2, 3, and 4. Please refer to our list of car parks in each zone for further details.
Please note that the Southend Pass is not valid in residential parking areas or controlled parking zones, and it is not valid in the Victoria Shopping Centre car park.
What are the payment options?
You have the option to make recurring payments monthly (£12.50) these will be recurring payments for 12 months. Alternatively, you can make one-off payment for the full 12 months (£125) in advance which provides you with a saving.
Can I extend my parking beyond 3 hours without moving my vehicle?
Yes, if you want to park for more than 3 hours, you can pay for additional time on the Southend Parking app or at nearby pay and display machines. Please note that a convenience fee applies for each transaction purchased.
How does the Pass work in Zone 1 and at University Square Car Park after 6pm?
Southend Pass customers parking in the central seafront (Zone 1) or at University Square Car Park after 6pm must book a new session on the app. If you are parking all day, this means two separate sessions are required.

Example 2. If you arrive at 5pm and want to stay until 8pm, you need to book two separate sessions, from 5 to 6pm and 6 to 8pm.
This applies to locations in Zone 1 as well as University Square Car Park during their evening operating hours.
