Preparing your items for collection
We will not be able to collect your items if:
- they are not left outside by 7am
- they are not left in the agreed location
- the requirements within these terms and conditions are not met
Bulky items can only be collected from:
- the property front boundary, or
- the property's usual waste collection point
We cannot carry items up or down steps to bring them to our collection vehicles. We will not enter your property unless prior arrangements have been made through the Assisted Waste Collection service.
Bulky items should be free standing where possible and not leaning against vehicles or property. Doing so may mean items are not collected.
All items should:
- be emptied before collection, and
- not contain additional waste or any other items
Bulky items should not be left on the highway or footpath for collection. If bulky waste is placed on the highway or footpath without a booked collection, it will be treated as fly-tipping. This will be investigated by our Environmental Enforcement team and may result in enforcement action.
Residents in flats with communal bin stores can book a collection and should leave items outside the bin store. This location:
- must be publicly accessible, and
- must not prevent access to the bin store
Only the items booked for collection will be collected. Extra items presented will not be collected. Photographs will be taken by our collection crew to show the items which have been collected and any extra items which have not.
We reserve the right not to collect any items:
- deemed inappropriate
- considered to be unauthorised waste (such as commercial waste)
- that present an environmental risk or health and safety risk to our collection crews
Items collected may be recycled, re-used, or disposed of at our discretion.
