Requesting a building control history will only return a summary of the applications registered (we refer to this as a history card) for which a research fee is payable upon application.
Once this summary is received by yourself, you may then request copies of documentation which will incur a further charge (please refer to our fees and charges ).
Please Note:
not all properties have building control histories but in order to determine this, research is required, therefore a fee is still applicable.
Building Control plans are not in the public domain and are only available to view by owners or those working on the owners behalf (access to plans provided by appointment at the Civic Centre Offices). If you wish to view plans, you will need to provide evidence of ownership or authorisation from the owners. Copies cannot be produced due to Copyright laws.
Any building application between 1975 -1987 are stored off site. Therefore a retrieval fee is required - details of which can be found on our Fees and Charges page - Please note - we cannot guarantee the contents of the file.
For property history between 1999 - present these can be viewed by visiting our website and select 'Building Control' towards the end of the page
