Find a work experience placement
As an employer, we encourage and promote quality work experience placements.
Work experience placements are available to:
- young people in education aged 16 to 18
- Care Leavers up to the age of 25
During a work experience placement with us, you will:
- learn about working life and the skills required by employers
- raise your awareness of skills you may wish to develop
- gain an insight into a large public sector organisation
- build on your skills and knowledge and gain confidence
- develop team-working, self-reliance and flexibility skills
- develop vocational skills and improve job opportunities
How to apply
If you wish to join us for work experience, you will need to:
- Download our application form.
- Complete the application form.
- Return the completed version via email (resourcing@southend.gov.uk).
If you are under 16, your teacher or tutor must also fill out the application form.
Please make sure that the application is submitted well in advance of the planned period of work experience. This is because it may take up to six weeks to arrange a suitable placement.
Please note that work experience opportunities:
- cannot be facilitated at short notice
- are not always guaranteed
