Join the fright! Performers wanted for Southend Halloween Parade 2025

Southend’s much-loved Halloween Parade is set to return for its fifth year.

A giant blue octopus is being carried up as part of a night time parade.

Organisers are calling on local performers, schools, dance groups, and creatives to take part in what promises to be the biggest and best parade yet.

Taking place on Saturday 25 October 2025, the parade is free to join and open to all, as long as you're illuminated and in costume.

Whether you're part of a dance troupe, theatre group, school, club or creative collective, now's the time to get involved and showcase your spooky spirit.

From eerie performances to haunting musical acts, organisers are looking for all kinds of creative groups to help make this year's event truly spectacular.

Spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged. To register your group or find out more, visit www.southendhalloween.org.

Each year, the Southend seafront is transformed into a dazzling display of lights, music, movement and creativity, as thousands of residents and visitors gather to enjoy the spooky spectacle.

The parade features giant illuminated puppets, vibrant dance troupes, live music and mesmerising performers, with over 50 groups taking part last year alone.

Cllr Matt Dent, cabinet member for business, culture and tourism, said: "Our Halloween Parade has quickly become one of Southend's most popular events, and it's fantastic to be celebrating its fifth year.

"Each parade has brought something special, and with all the experience and enthusiasm gained from the past parades, we're confident this year will be the biggest and best yet. It's a brilliant, free celebration for residents and visitors alike, and a great boost for our local economy."
