Southend-on-Sea City Council welcomes internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble, Apollo5, to Southend for a concert featuring music from the Renaissance through to contemporary jazz.

This must-see performance, taking place on Friday 22 November at the Plaza Centre, Southchurch Road, will include a wide range of works from William Byrd, Francis Poulenc, Vaughan Williams, to Bill Withers and Elton John.

Apollo5, praised for their powerful and distinctive sound, is one of Britain's most celebrated vocal ensembles. Known for their impressive blend and the ability to showcase each individual voice within a small group, they frequently perform from memory, creating an intimate connection with audiences.

This concert in Southend is one of only three UK performances this season, as they embark on a busy autumn tour across Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany, followed by a US tour in the new year.

Councillor Matt Dent, cabinet member for culture, tourism, and business, said: "We are delighted to welcome Apollo5 to Southend as part of our council concert series. With such a unique programme, this concert offers a chance to enjoy world-class music right here in Southend.

"Our concerts ensure both residents and visitors can experience internationally acclaimed performances without needing to travel to the major concert halls and cathedrals of London or beyond. I encourage everyone to book early to see the extraordinary talents of Apollo5."

The concert begins at 8pm. Tickets, priced at £15, are available online or by phone at 01702 215011, Monday to Friday during office hours. Remaining tickets will be on sale at the concert.
