Calling all year 6 parents and carers to apply now for their child’s secondary school place for September 2025.
Southend-on-Sea City Council are reminding parents that secondary school applications must be made by the end of Thursday 31 October (11.59pm - if online) for a Year 7 secondary school place. Submitting your application on time increases the chances of your child being offered a place at their preferred school.
Applications can be made via our school admissions page. For more information and guidance when choosing and applying for school places parents and carers can refer to our online admissions booklet.
Councillor Laurie Burton, cabinet member for children, young people, and SEND, said: "Selecting the right secondary school for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make for them. It's about finding a place where they can thrive, learn, and succeed. The right school can have a profound impact on their lives, helping them to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.
"We understand how significant this choice is, and we've made the process as simple as possible on our website. We have provided as much information as we can in our booklet to help you make an informed decision. While many families have already made their choice, we know some are still deciding. It's important to apply on time and follow the guidance to make sure your child gets the best start in their secondary education."
