The team spoke to prospective foster carers about the benefits of fostering with the council.

The event attracted dozens of attendees, with the team highlighting the deeply rewarding experience of becoming a foster carer and emphasising the extensive support offered by Southend-on-Sea City Council's fostering team, ensuring new applicants are well-prepared to transform the lives of children in need across the city.

This event follows July's successful gathering for existing foster carers, where new exclusive activity discounts for fostering families, cared-for children, and care leavers were introduced at the same venue.

Councillor Laurie Burton, cabinet member for children, young people, and SEND, said: "If you have space in your heart and home, fostering offers a truly fulfilling path. Our fostering team is here to guide you every step of the way.

"The care they provide for the young people in our city is invaluable, and I'd like to personally thank them for their dedication."
