Southend City Partnership - Have your say and help create a vision for our City

People are being asked what they want from the future of our city.

Two people sat on bench talking to each other outside Metal at Chalkwell Park.

The short survey on Your Say Southend has been coordinated by the Southend City Partnership and will run from today (Friday 30 August) to Friday 22 November 2024, and is open to everyone who lives, works, visits, studies or runs a business or organisation in Southend-on-Sea. Paper copies are also available across local libraries, the Civic Centre, SAVS in Alexandra Street and South Essex Community Hub in The Victoria Centre.

Feedback from the survey will be used to create a City Vision. This is a long-term vision for Southend-on-Sea, which will help to set a direction for the place, and inspire and motivate residents, communities, businesses and organisations to shape key strategies and values across the city over the next 10 years.

Each participant will be entered into a prize draw with the opportunity to win one of several prizes including a Sunday lunch for two at The Roslin.

Tara Poore, chief executive officer of City Family CIC and Chair of the Southend City Partnership, emphasised the importance of community involvement: “This consultation is a unique opportunity for everyone in Southend to have their say in shaping our city's future. Your input will help us create a vision that truly reflects the aspirations of our diverse and vibrant community.”

Cllr Daniel Cowan, leader of Southend-on-Sea City Council, says: “I urge people to get involved with this important piece of partnership work and help us to create an inspiring vision for the future of our City.”

Colin Ansell, chief executive of the council and Co-Chair of the Southend City Partnership, added: “We are committed to ensuring that this vision is inclusive and forward-looking. I encourage everyone to participate, whether online, at one of our events, or through your local networks. Together, we can ensure Southend is a thriving coastal city that we are all proud to be part of.”
