New sponsors help make City Jam bigger and better for 2024

Southend City Jam, the fantastic street art festival returning to Southend this month, is now even bigger thanks to the support from sponsors.

A 6-metre cube, which is positioned 1.3 miles out in the sea, on Southend Pier.

This year's City Jam sponsors are: c2c, PGR Builders and Timber Merchants, VelFit, Mark One Hire and Offshore Restaurant and Bar. Also, as announced last month, our new headline sponsor is Southend City BID.

c2c is the award-winning train operator running services between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness, serving 26 stations in East London and South Essex, and seven stations in Southend.

Rob Mullen, managing director of c2c, said: "I am thrilled that c2c can support Southend City Jam again this year. Southend-on-Sea City Council and c2c are united by a shared vision and values for community engagement and prosperity in the local area. We hope residents and visitors can experience some of the UK's top street art by taking c2c rail this summer."

PGR Builders and Timber Merchants is a family-owned independent builders and timber merchants established in 1984. The company will be supplying the timber needed to erect the temporary 'walls' in the High Street and seafront area.

VelFit is an Essex based company that install, repair and replace VELUX windows and blinds throughout Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk. The VelFit team will be providing some much-needed help with the build and takedown of the temporary installations, as well as stewarding throughout the festival.

Mark One Hire is an Essex-based tool, equipment and powered access hire company. The local business will provide support equipment for the festival including cherry pickers to ensure the artists can safely reach the walls.

Offshore Restaurant and Bar, located on Southend Pier, has sponsored the creation of the world's first 6-metre cube, which is positioned 1.3 miles out in the sea!

The added support from these new sponsors means that City Jam organisers have been able to expand this year's festival. Their generosity not only helps brings the festival to fruition but also enriches the cultural scene of Southend-on-Sea. With over 200 local, national and international artists attending, it's set to be a jam-packed three days of incredible street art.

Councillor Matt Dent, cabinet member for culture, tourism and business, said: "It's great to see big businesses coming on board to support the council in delivering such an innovative and cool event within the city. The event would not be able to take place on this scale without each sponsor's support and help. It's fantastic to see so many local businesses getting involved."

Further information regarding the event, including full details of all the artists involved, volunteering, and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the official City Jam website.
