Southend-on-Sea will be hosting two international diving teams in the lead up to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Both the Malaysian and Australian Olympic Diving Teams will be training at our state-of-the-art facilities at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre (SLTC) starting this week until Saturday 3 August 2024.
Diving enthusiasts and interested spectators can watch the athletes in action at the dive pool at SLTC. The 'wet' training sessions in the diving area are free to attend, providing a unique opportunity to see world-class divers practice their skills. The 'dry' training is not available to watch.
Cllr Matt Dent, cabinet member for culture, tourism, and business, said: "We are thrilled to welcome both the Malaysian and Australian Olympic diving teams here in our City. Thanks to our state-of-the-art diving pool at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre we are able to play a small part in the athletes' journey to the Paris Olympics.
"Let's come together to support these remarkable divers as they prepare to make a splash on the world stage!"
