The gift shop, which aims to enhance the visitor experience and celebrate the unique charm of our beloved seaside attraction, is part of Southend-on-Sea City Council's ongoing efforts to provide memorable and enriching experiences for both residents and visitors and is one of many new additions coming to the pier this year.

Featuring a range of unique merchandise designed by an in-house designer at the council, the gift shop offers something for everyone. From custom-designed tea towels and mugs to bespoke fridge magnets, each item has been designed to capture the essence of Southend Pier and its cultural heritage.

Mayor Ron Woodley, who was elected as the city's 103rd Mayor on 9 May, said: “I am delighted that one of my first official Mayoral duties is to officially open this fantastic gift shop on our wonderful pier.

“The shop will be a welcome addition to the visitor experience, and not only offers a unique selection of merchandise, but also supports the council's ongoing commitment to enhancing the pier as a cherished local landmark.”
