An internationally acclaimed university choir from King’s College, London will perform at the Southchurch Plaza Centre on Friday 19 January 2024.
Tickets are now on sale for their first ever performance in Southend. Their programme includes many well-loved choral works including Rachmaninov's All Night Vigil and John Tavener's “The Lamb”, Song for Athene. The Choir perform under the direction of their conductor Dr Joseph Fort and have been thrilling audiences worldwide with their uplifting musical talents.
The Choir of King's College London is one of the leading university choirs in England and services from the College Chapel are regularly broadcast on BBC Radio. The Choir also regularly perform at Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral and tour widely across the world including destinations such as Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Nigeria and the USA.
The concert has been arranged by Southend-on-Sea City Council as the most recent event in their calendar of concerts.

The concerts give residents and visitors a special opportunity to experience world-renowned music without having to travel to the big concert halls, cathedrals and abbeys of London and other major cities.
“I would encourage residents to book early and enjoy the wonderful musical talents of the choir in their first ever performance in our City.”
The concert takes place in the Plaza Centre, Southchurch Road, Southend-on-Sea, starting at 8pm. Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased online or by phone on 01702 215011, Monday to Friday, during normal office hours. Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the concert.
