Rob Tinlin MBE has been appointed as the council’s interim Chief Executive, following approval at Full Council yesterday (Monday 24 July)
Rob Tinlin MBE said: “I am delighted to be returning as the Chief Executive of Southend-on-Sea City Council, and to receive approval from Full Council.
“I spent 12 successful and very happy years here between 2005 and 2017 and am passionate about this great place as Southend-on-Sea runs through my veins. To have the opportunity to return on an interim basis is a real honour.
“I am here to provide clear and strong leadership, ensure the council is on a strong footing, and to a place where a permanent Chief Executive can be appointed in the future.
“I look forward to seeing some familiar and new faces in the weeks and months ahead as we drive this new City forwards.”
Cllr Tony Cox, leader of the council, said: “I am very pleased that Rob is returning to the council. Having led the organisation to council of the year in 2012 and achieving many other successes during his previous time here, Rob is well respected and well regarded locally, and I know that he will provide the strong leadership and vision to take us forwards onto our next stage as an organisation and as a place."
Rob Tinlin MBE started his nine-month fixed-term contract earlier today (Tuesday 25 July).
