Southend Youth Council is holding a Meet and Greet event this Friday (14 April) for all young people aged between 11 and 18.
Taking place in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre, the event is a great opportunity for young people to find out how they can get involved in their local community and to have their say.
Aila Chaudry-Rashid, youth mayor of Southend Youth Council, said: “We are inviting representatives from Southend schools across the city and those who live in Southend to attend.
“We meet monthly to discuss the issues that young people in Southend are facing and how these can be resolved. We want to get more young people aware of what we offer and enable them to contribute to their local community.
“The Youth Council gives young people opportunities that help them grow and looks amazing on CVs. So please come along this Friday, we look forward to welcoming new members at this meeting. Also, free pizza will also be provided!”
The Youth Council is open to young people aged 11-18 (up to 25 with special educational needs).
The Meet and Greet takes place in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, SS2 6ER, on Friday 14 April between 1pm and 3pm. Just turn up, no pre-registration required.
