Families are being invited along for relaxed sessions at The Forum’s Children’s Library on Tuesday evenings.
We know families of children with additional needs often welcome the opportunity to attend environments with reduced distractions, and the late afternoon is a quieter time in the libraries and perfect for supporting anyone who wishes to enjoy all the library has to offer.
The sessions take place between 5-6pm on Tuesday and there’s no need to book, just turn up and enjoy the library.
Cllr Carole Mulroney, cabinet member for environment, culture and tourism, said: “Our libraries are welcoming spaces at all times of the day, but we have identified the late afternoon hours to be particularly quiet and conducive to families with children with additional needs.
We thought it would be good to safeguard this time for those who may wish to enjoy our service without the pressure of meeting social expectations or the distractions of a busy environment.”
