The Green Monday Business Support Expo, organised by Low Carbon Across the South and East (LoCASE), is aimed at small and medium enterprise businesses (SME), the event will be a great opportunity to network and discover support from other organisations, plus meeting new and potential customers. There will be workshops running during the event that will be free to attend, with spaces available on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

LoCASE is supported by the UK Government and the European Regional Development Fund, to provide grants for businesses of up to £10,000 as well as training workshops and fully funded events. Including, targeted business support which is available for companies who offer “green” or low carbon goods and services.

The event is taking place on Monday 5 December 2022 - book your free visitor ticket or pop along on the day between 10am and 3pm.

Cllr Ian Gilbert, cabinet member for economic recovery, regeneration and housing, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for those wanting to grow their business in a more environmentally-friendly way. Programmes such as this will help Southend businesses to thrive in our City, whilst keeping an eye on issues like pollution and our carbon footprint, which aligns with our long-term priorities as a council. I urge owners of small and medium sized businesses in the area to attend this event to see what support is available.”

The ForwardMotion team will also be in attendance, offering local businesses the chance to try out the new electric cargo bikes for a FREE trial period, the perfect vehicle for deliveries and small trips that can be made without the use of a delivery van.

Gary Crooks, Economic Development Manager for LoCASE, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting our first EXPO at The Ironworks in Southend-on-Sea, not only to bring together and celebrate the businesses that have benefited from the LoCASE grant already - but showcasing what these grants can do for other SME’s. We want to encourage all that are eligible to take advantage of this amazing opportunity before the programme ends in 2023.”
