World Mental Health Day takes place on Monday 10 October, and as part of the day, Southend Libraries are hosting organisations from across the community to showcase their services, including Southend Carers, Heads Up, Mind, Trust Links and Everyone Health. There will also be an opportunity for seated yoga.

The aim of the event, which runs from 10am – 2pm, is to highlight the various services available to local people in a relaxed environment.

Cllr Carole Mulroney, cabinet member for environment, culture and tourism, said: “Mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities and it impacts everyone. We need to do as much as possible to prevent mental health issues, as individuals and as a society.

“World Mental Health Day is also a chance to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling. The open day at the Forum is a great opportunity to seek support, or just to find out more about the services available here in Southend.

Booking is not required for the event.
