Explore the night sky with the reopening of Southend Planetarium!

Residents and visitors are invited to explore the wonders of the night sky as Southend-on-Sea City Council is pleased to announce the reopening of the Southend Planetarium.

Planetarium doors

As part of Southend-on-Sea’s improved visitor experience, Southend Planetarium – managed by Southend Museums - has reopened its doors to the public and with it, a new live show discovering and exploring the night sky, the constellations, our solar system and beyond.

Public shows are run every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, and guests must be aged seven or over. Each show seats around 20 guests, so we recommend contacting the museum team in advance to confirm seat availability to avoid disappointment.

Additionally, schools and groups can arrange and pre-book shows from Wednesday to Sunday. Please contact Southend Planetarium for more information on how to do this.
