Submission
You need to make sure that you submit all of the correct supporting documents when you complete your planning application. To find out which supporting documents you need for the work you are planning to carry out, you should check:
The National Validation List applies to all planning applications in England, and the Local Validation List only applies to applications you submit to us.
We encourage you to submit your planning application online using the Planning Portal, which enables anyone to submit a planning application electronically. All you need is electronic copies of your drawings and supporting documents.
Main benefits of online submission:
- open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- no printing or postage required
- simple to register and submit applications
- applications can be managed and tracked online
See our page on planning application forms for further details on Planning Portal online submissions. This page also includes details on hard copy submissions for which forms can be downloaded and submitted either by hand/post/email to PlanningRegistrationTeam@southend.gov.uk.
Details of our policy on waste storage, collection and management guide for new developments can be found on recycling and waste policies and strategies.
