If a sponsored walk is being arranged in Southend that does not have any infrastructure or further activity (ie charity street collection) then an event permit is not required. However if there is infrastructure ie a signing in table, refreshments stand/gazebo, PA system, banners, etc then you would need to apply for an event permit, please see our hosting an event page for further information and guidance:
Please note that an application fee applies and that you must apply for an event permit a minimum of 8 weeks before the event date. If you want to collect money along the walk then you will also need to apply for a charity street collection permit, which must be applied for at least a month ahead of the date, and as well as apply for a charity collection permit you will need to supply a letter of authority from your chosen charity.
