All development in these Conservation Areas should respect the features outlined above that contribute to its special character.
Planning permission is needed for development which materially affects the appearance or use of buildings or land. This can include, for example, re-roofing and altering windows, constructing extensions and new buildings. 40-45 Eastern Esplanade are Listed Buildings and Listed Building Consent will also be required for any work that affects their characters, internally or externally. Please check with the Planning Officer before making any alterations.
