Numbering a new 'single' property
The developer/premises owner should send in a site plan indicating the new property in relation to any existing properties.
If the property is located in an existing numbered street, then the next logical number is allocated. The developer may also want to give the building a name to be used in conjunction with the allocated postal number.
Royal Mail is then consulted if the number/name is not acceptable the developer/premises owner will be asked for another suggestion.
Once the number/name has been agreed, a letter is sent to the developer/owner confirming the new address and other interested departments within the Council are also notified. A numbering certificate will be sent to the owner of the premises.
