The Town-centre Redevelopment Improvement Project is an application for DfT funding via the National Productivity Investment Fund to deliver £2.5 million of investment to key town centre locations. The purpose is to improve local access to the town centre, bus interchange and rail stations by redirecting car parking traffic, improving public realm and modifying the highway. The proposals facilitate a wider network redistribution by ensuring the most appropriate travel routes and smart guidance making the area more viable for new development opportunities.
