New Contract from April 2025
When you renew your annual subscription, your garden waste collection service will continue for another year. For example, if you renew in November 2024, your subscription will run until November 2025.
Although a new contractor will start in April 2025, they will continue to empty your garden waste bin as usual, since your subscription is already paid.
Please note that the garden waste bin belongs to you, and if you renew your subscription for another year, you will continue to use this same bin.
Further information will be provided by us to all garden waste collection subscribers in early 2025
Service up until April 2025
All information and details shown on this page correct up until April 2025.
We will contact all existing subscribers in early 2025.
You can check your collection day by using our directory.
Veolia can collect your garden waste for a fee.
The service provides a weekly collection of garden waste for 12 months from the date you join it.
If you purchase pre-paid garden waste sacks from an outlet in Southend-on-Sea, please remember to register your address by emailing Veolia. This service then runs for a year and will need renewing each year.
If you sign-up to the service via debit or credit card you will need to renew your subscription after 12 months. Shortly before the end of your subscription, you will receive a letter from Veolia, reminding you to renew your subscription.
If you have received a letter, you can re-apply for the service by using the garden waste portal or calling Veolia 0203 5676955.
If your garden bin has been tagged as not having an active subscription, please call Veolia 0203 5676955.
Veolia can be busy with calls. If so, do please leave a message with your contact details so they can call you back as soon as they can.
If your garden waste collection service has run out, you can re-apply for the service by using Veolia's garden waste portal, or calling Veolia: 0203 5676955
If you have proof that you made an application for the garden waste service but your garden bin has been tagged, please call Veolia: 0203 5676955
There is a Frequently Asked Questions for garden waste recycling on Veolia's website.
Garden waste service
If you want to start a garden waste service (paying by credit or debit card or via direct debit) then please use the garden waste portal.
Please be advised that we no longer issue physical permits. Instead, Veolia will be using in-cab technology to list and collect from our customers meaning that a permit no longer needs to be affixed to your bin.
If you have presented your garden waste bin and it has not been collected please check your garden waste collection day or report a missed collection using our online form. Please also check that you have not forgotten to renew your yearly subscription to the service.
If you are unable to home compost your garden waste you can either register for the garden waste wheeled bin service or the garden waste compostable sack service.
Your garden waste collection day might be different from your recycling and waste collection day. Please check your garden waste collection day using our directory.
